How Trolley handles your information
Last updated: 21 June 2026What Trolley is
Trolley is a free pretend-shopping experience. You can create a virtual trolley, follow a simulated delivery and see how much money you did not spend. Trolley does not sell real products, arrange real deliveries or take real payments.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and account status.
- Password sign-up data: a securely hashed password when you create an account with email.
- Google sign-in data: your Google account ID, email address, email verification status and name.
- Optional profile details: your cell number and delivery address or map pin when you choose to add them.
- App activity: fake wallet activity, trolley items, checkouts, reveals, referral activity and in-app events.
- Technical data: session cookies, device/browser category, app diagnostics and standard server logs.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account.
- To verify your email address or Google sign-in.
- To run the trolley, fake wallet, wait map, reveal and graveyard experience.
- To remember your session and app preferences.
- To understand whether the product is working and where users get stuck.
- To prevent abuse, diagnose errors and keep the service available.
Google sign-in
If you use Sign in with Google, Trolley uses Google Identity Services only to confirm who you are. We receive an ID token from Google and use it to verify your Google account ID, name, email address and email verification status.
Trolley does not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, calendar or other Google account content. We do not sell Google user data and we do not share it for advertising.
Analytics and cookies
Trolley uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. The app may also use local storage and offline cache storage so the PWA feels fast and reliable.
On the production website, Trolley uses privacy-conscious product analytics and Google Analytics to understand page views and broad app events. Advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled.
Sharing
We share information only with services needed to operate Trolley, such as web hosting, email delivery, Google Identity Services, Google Analytics and map or geocoding services used for the delivery-pin experience. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention and deletion
We keep account information and trolley history while your account remains active, unless we need to keep limited records for security, troubleshooting or legal reasons. You can ask for your personal information to be corrected or deleted.
Security
Passwords are stored as hashes, not plain text. Sessions use secure browser cookies where supported, and admin access is restricted. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to keep the information we hold limited and protected.
Your choices
- You can use email sign-up or Google sign-in.
- You can update your name, cell number and delivery address in your account.
- You can stop using Trolley at any time.
- You can request access, correction or deletion of your personal information.
